Ok so I’m not trying to dis True Blood cause I loooooove TB, but I’ve seen alot of similarities between Buffy and True Blood, and from what I’ve seen online some other people made the same observation that I made. I’m actually making the comparison based mostly on Buffy’s S5 but obviously I’m gonna reference the entire series. So it goes.
Ok so starting with the obvious I do see a similarity when it comes to the trio.
So Sookie (Buffy) falls in love with Bill (Angel) but Eric (Spike) is attracted to Sookie (Buffy).
Now in reference to BTVS Season 5, the villain was Glorificus (Glory) A God like being that used innocent people by controlling their minds to help her create a tower to open the portal to another dimension. Something that Maryann managed to do on TB as well.
Both Taras were controlled by the villain, Glory drained Tara and made her loose her mind and act a fool, just like Maryann did with TB’s Tara.
Now let’s see, both shows have a spoiled bratty teenager Dawn (Buffy’s sister) and Jessica (Bills daughter per say).
Now to me TB’s Jason is Buffy’s Willow, they were both the laugh of the town, but in time they proved to be “badasses” Jason tried to save Tara and the rest of the town, as where Willow did the same for Tara when Glory controlled her and the other people. And let’s not forget that they lost their “goofy” ways right after their girlfriends got killed, Willow became more powerful when Tara was killed by someone who hated Buffy, and Jason’s girl got killed by Renee who was after Sookie too.
Now let’s talk about Sam and Xander, let’s see when the show started Sam was all “gaga” over Sookie, and Xander was “gaga” over Buffy when they first met. Also Xander dated Anyanka (a non human) and Sam started seeing that shapeshifter girl, (the pig) and they both died. And they were both overprotective too, Sam towards Sookie and Xander towards Buffy.
I also couldn’t help but notice that TB’s Lorena (Bill’s maker) kinda reminds me of Buffy’s Darla (Angel’s sire) and they are both vicious vampires that later realize that they love their vamps. Bill and Angel.
Both Buffy and Sookie lost their, mothers. (although Sookie lost her grandma but it was a motherly figure)
And obviously both shows have that one sarcastic, trendy, straight forward character. Lafayette and Cordelia. And let’s not forget that they both almost died causing them to change their attitude.
Like I said I”m a big fan of both shows and I’m just sharing with you the similarities that I saw while enjoying both shows.
All in all neither Sookie nor Buffy can do it alone, they need their gang or as the buffy fans would call it they both need the “scooby gang” and these characters are the ones that make the show a bit more entertaining. looking forward to season 3 of TB and I guess it’s time to bring out the DVD collection and watch BTVS one more time. “Once More With Feeling” <– Buffy reference..hehehehe =op
If you are a gamer like myself, you’re definitely going to enjoy this film. The beginning of the movie did remind me two of my favorite games. Right from the get go the films opening scene takes you right into the action of an online game called “Slayers” filled with lots of gore and non- stop gore shooting. The “game” scene’s kinda reminded me of a real life “Call of Duty 4″ with a “Left 4 Dead” kinda feel to it.
If you haven’t watched the film I will not spoil it for you but I will tell you that the film takes place in the future, in a world where people either play the game or get played in the game. I really enjoyed the real life SIMS game that they had, but the fighting game SLAYERS wow I wouldn’t wanna be controlled period. There was a part of the movie where I did feel it kinda lagged but all in all I enjoyed the movie. So if you are a gamer you’ll definetely like this movie, hey even if you’re not a game, the gore and violence alone will probably make you a fan. (Click On Pic Above for Trailer)
Kim Mathers didn’t hold back on Thursday morning while being interview on Detroit, Michigan’s radio station WKQI. She flat out spilled Eminem’s biz like there was no tomorrow, what did she say? well and I quote… “I can’t stand him. He’s an absolutely horrible person, and he gets worse every day,” “I vomit in my mouth whenever I’m around him or I hear his name. There’s nothing left in me for him. Nothing at all.” but that’s not the worst part of the interview, she went on to say that “he’s not very well-endowed,” and that sex with him is “bad” and to add slap to insult she put him on blast when these words came out of her mouth: “If you’re going to have sex with Marshall, make sure you have a little blue pill, because otherwise it does not work.”
Hey I’m not saying that she is not entitled to her own opinion but at the same time, something as intimate and private as that should be kept between the parties involved. But than again Marshall does have a tendency to diss others through his music, so from my perspective, Karma finally paid him a visit. Again!!! (remember the awards and the flying angel?).
THEE King of Pop is finally laid to rest today after 70 long days after his passing. Services took place at 7pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA. 200 plus showed up to say their final goodbyes and to pay their respects and condolences to the Jackson family. Amongst the mourners were Elizabeth Taylor, Macaulay Culkin, Stevie Wonder, Brooke Shields and Diana Ross.
Reports say that his children, Prince Michael (12), Paris (11) & Prince Michael II(7) left a message in the coffin that read — “Daddy we love you, we miss you,” along side a white glove.
I’m personally feel that 70 days to bury a person is a bit disrespecful, but hey there might be legalities behind so, I really can’t comment too much on that, but whatever the reason(s), we can all be thankful that he is finally resting and that’s what really matter. Rest in peace dear Michael and my condolences to your loved ones.
In the late 90′s HBO introduced us all to a new series whose main focus was a young single female columnist that wrote about life in the form of a journal and from one single point of view, HERS and so after a couple of episodes America was hooked and immediately fell in love with her, her name arrie Bradshaw who; along with her entourage of female companions captivated audiences week after week from June 1998 to May 2004. Awh and who can forget the lovely, seductive yet fearless Samantha (the original TVland cougar), or the sweet goody-two-shoes girly girl that is Charlotte? And last but not least the intelligent, yet shy and insecure Miranda? Yes these 4 ladies kept us busy for 6 years. Until One day…. *bammmm* the show got cancelled and America was left eft with a thirst for more, drama, more tears more SEX IN THE CITY. And sooo after a long awaited release, SEX IN THE CITY The Movie was release in 2008. Women and gay men alike were sadden yet again, when they realized that Mr Big, was indeed a BIG FLAKE…. and America was once again left craving for more Carrie & Co. well guess what ladies and gents? The wait is finally over your thirst for more SITC will soon be quenched, yup that’s right you guessed it. According to various online sources. Warner Bros and New Line began production on the sequel and have announced that “Sex In The City 2″ will hit theaters on May 28, 2010. And although May seems like a long way ahead, I will try to enjoy my movie going experiences until then because if memory serves me well. Movie theaters were jammed pack when part 1 came out. So ladies get ready and talk amongst yourselves about this long awaited sequel and guys be kind to your ladies, show them a little bit of love and go see the movie with them, trust me they will thank you for being so supportive and so in touch with your feminine side. LOL.
